The morphology of the diatom Craticula buderi from the phytoplankton and phytoperiphyton of lakes Golubye (the Middle Volga region) was studied using scanning electron microscopy. The variability of the length and width of the valve, the number of striae and areolae in 10 µm was revealed. The results obtained and analysis of the literature data made it possible to clarify the description of the species and its distribution.
